Gary Shainberg, Vice President, Global Technology & Innovation Support BT Plc , Office of the Chief Scientist, BT Gary Shainberg is Vice President of Global Technology & Innovation Support in BT’s Group Technology Office responsible for ensuring BT’s Innovation and Technology programmes deliver (radical) solutions to business problems – which in turn drives improved business performance.

Gary has over 17 years experience in the Global Networked Economy covering a widerange of national and international assignments.

Gary Joined BT in 1997 and has been involved in the design, development and selling of many of BT’s IP based products and services. He is passionate about the future of technology and applied innovation and leads on the technological implementation of BT’s Global Innovation showcases.

Gary also plays a major part for BT on its relationship as strategic partners with the World Economic Forum taking the lead on the Technology Pioneers Programme and the WELCOM project as well as BT’s support for the One Laptop Per Child initiative. In 2006 Gary was appointed to the Israel Britain Business Council to promote bilateral trade between the two Countries.

Previous to BT, Gary ran one of the UK’s earliest ISP’s, which he set up after running his own business and a successful 17-year career in the Royal Navy as aircrew. Gary is married with 4 children and lives on Cornwall, England.
